"taboo about christianity"

Well, just wanna share yesterday’s reflection journal question and my answer:

What is ONE taboo that you feel should be done away with? Explain your choice with regards to how it affects the way you communicate with others.

I think the one taboo that I feel should be done away with is the issue that some people have with Christianity. My choice would create understanding and clarity in others who are not sure of the religion so that we will have better communication and understanding in the future.

I am aware that some non-believers think that Christians are irritating because they keep trying to force their religion on the non-believers. They do not understand that we just want to share the gospel with them and tell them how much God loves them and are trying to reach out to them through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Also, some non-believers do not understand that our religion frees us instead of keeping us prisoners of our religion. I have friends who think that being a Christian has many restrictions to our freedom because there are certain things that we cannot do. On the contrary, we may have been restricted but that is only if we want to restrict ourselves for the good. For example, restrict ourselves from getting drunk, swearing vulgarities and such. However, we are free in a way that we are free from worries knowing that God has a plan for each and every one of us. And we will pull through any obstacles as God works through us. God will not give us more than we can bear. We will not be worried about death either, and instead, be happy about it because that is when we leave this finite world and spend eternity with our Father in heaven.

There are many things that non-believers do not know about Christianity and are having assumptions about it. Christianity is also one of the biggest taboos. So I think that this religion should be done away with.
