"Christ Suffers"

Hey ya’ll! Man… I haven’t been blogging about my quiet time for a VERY LOOOOONG time. that’s cos I hardly did my quiet time over my school holidays. But it has truly been a blessed 2-month holiday for me.

Over the holidays, I read Mere Christianity by C.S Lewis, and Brother Yun. And what did I learn? There was something that struck me when I was reading Mere Christianity, and that was the suffering of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Yes, we often hear things like, Christ suffered for us to save us from our sins, and Christ saved us and made a way for us away from hell. We often might take it for granted after hearing it so many times. Some think that He’s God anyway, so it shouldn’t be a problem for Him. But have you ever thought what did it ever cost Him to give us wealth, fame, power, and even bring us into existence on Earth?

NOTHING! It cost Him nothing to do such things for us. But to bring us from rebellion against Him, now THAT caused Him to suffer for us. He’s been tortured and nailed to the cross for us. Have you ever had a nail pierced into your hands and feet? Or have your head been pierced by spiky thorns? I don’t think so.

As for what I have learned from Brother Yun, whatever is in the Lord’s plan, he will allow. If you are a non-Christian and have ever been forbidden by family members or anyone from being a Christian, you WILL STILL eventually be one if you persevere with faith from the Lord. Joshua 1:5, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. His children are all predestined, and since you believe in Him and what He can do, you are probably one of His children already. With God, nothing is impossible.
